Bury Yourself In a Book!

Makai, a fourteen-year-old ancient Polynesian boy, makes a bad decision that cripples him and causes the death of his father and other people of his village. Cursed by the gods and his own people, he, along with his mother and grandfather, are banished to the Isle of the Living Dead, where the dead feed on the living and the living feed on the dead. Within six years he not only survives but becomes a legendary warrior hero and the savior of his people.
